Joe Taylor is a trusted name in the building industry since starting business in the mid 1980s.
Joe left college to build a geodesic dome house in New Mexico in 1976 and has been involved in the building and roofing industry since then. Beginning as a carpenter when the crew did all phases of construction, he has a wide variety of experiences in both residential and commercial construction, including time with two roofing contractors, new home builders as an employee and subcontractor, a high-end remodeling and design company, a commercial contractor building new office, manufacturing, explosives manufacturing & storage, and an environmental test building where they shook wireline trucks to simulate road conditions. He worked for a year in the late 70s for a construction materials supply company and Joe was a warranty service technician for a new home builder where every problem with hundreds of new homes was his to solve.
His wide array of experiences gives him great insight into best practices and smart materials applications, and his creativity and design experience is a benefit for great projects. Joe is involved in serving his community in many ways. He served as a Trustee for the school district for 18 years, and as the leader for the District Planning Committee when they did improvements on all campuses, including construction of the KISD Performing Arts Center. He is a founding member of their Rotary Club, and currently serves as a director for the area Chamber of Commerce. He served for years as a leader with the local scout troop and as a director for the KISD Education Foundation. He currently serves on the board for The Village at Pleasant Ridge, a senior housing complex he has been involved in building at his church. Joe is a supporter of the arts, career and tech education, outdoor education, band and athletics in the schools and community. Taylor Contracting regularly contributes to community and international service.
Joe believes in treating customers as brothers and sisters and developing life-long relationships to help people take care of their property. He has built Taylor Contracting through word-of-mouth referrals by taking care of people and helping them plan improvements and solve problems with their property.
Chris Colwell began his career in construction when he started a remodeling company in 1979, COLWELL contracting. He later became the Superintendent for Southfork Development building new homes in southern Fort Worth. Eventually he moved on to become a Project Manager for PF West, building apartments in Grand Prairie and Arlington.
In 1986, Chris was hired by Hovnanian Companies as a Project Manager, and moved to Jacksonville, FL. In 1988, he was offered a promotion and transferred to the Palm Beach area to manage installation of underground utilities & streets and supervising single & multi family units’ construction. Chris also worked with Osteen Commercial Services building laboratories and retention systems in northern Florida.
In 1992, Chris started taking contracts with major insurance carriers like State Farm as an Independent Adjuster with Pilot Catastrophe Services, settling residential and commercial claims. He stayed with Pilot Catastrophe, was promoted to Trainer, then Team Manager, until he retired in 2018.
From 2018 to present, Chris has been a Project Manager for JD Taylor Contracting, supervising primarily remodeling and restoration projects.
After graduating high school in 2005, Adam Ginter joined the armed forces, and was honorably discharged from the US Army Reserve in 2013, as a Medical Supply Sergeant; deployed with the 101st Airborne Division to Afghanistan from 2008 to 2009. Back home, he worked in various sales or management positions for CVS Pharmacy, Best Buy Electronics, and Rooms To Go furniture.
Adam later became an Independent Adjuster with Pilot Catastrophe Services and primarily contracted with State Farm or Allstate, handling residential and commercial property claim adjusting. He was quickly promoted to a Steep & High Specialist, certified in Rope & Harness training, and worked over a dozen deployments in five years.
As an adjuster with Pilot Catastrophe, Adam was initially deployed to work hurricanes in Miami, FL, then later nor’easter snowstorms in Pennsylvania, and over the years worked several wind and hail storms in the states of Ohio, Maryland, New Jersey, Texas, and Virginia. His longest deployment was for 11 months handling a wide variety of State Farm claims in Washington, DC, with property damage claims ranging from large condominium buildings downtown to single family homes in the suburbs.
In 2019, Adam began a small business as a consultant, assisting contractors and homeowners with insurance claim reconciliation and settlements. Although he still maintains a few long-term client relationships with his small business today, Adam now primarily focuses on his position as Roofing Manager for JD Taylor Contracting. His hard-working background and extensive adjusting experience make him a proficient expert in property inspections, photo report packages, customer service, Xactimate Estimatics, claim negotiations, and start-to-finish project supervision.
